This classic Old Town canoe is a 15' Lightweight model made of wood and canvas and has been refinished in it's original style. It comes with seats and paddles as well as the trailer seen in the photos. <br /><br />Located in Old Town Maine, Old Town Canoe is the oldest continuous manufacturer of canoes in the US. They are well known for quality, craftmanship and longevity. According to records provided by Old Town, the canoe seen here is a 15' Lightweight model that was completed in May 1969 and shipped to McKnight Hardware here in Greensboro, NC where it was purchased new by the current owner. It is a beautiful, traditional style canoe constructed of wood and painted canvas. It has been used and enjoyed as well as cared for and preserved as evident in the photos. The exterior was refurbished about 15 years ago in red, which was the original color. There are a few blemishes, but overall this canoe is in excellent condition, especially inside. It was originally transported on top of a VW but over the years vehicles have changed, but the canoe remained. Without a car the canoe could go on top of, the owner had a trailer customized for both moving and storing the boat. While somewhat excessive for such a light boat, the trailer is very nice and in great shape. It has a NC title, good paint, good tires, working lights etc. The intention is to sell it all together. The owner has been an avid outdoorsman, fisherman and boater since he was young. he still fishes offshore but is no longer using the canoe and would like to pass it on to someone who will appreciate and enjoy it.
