It's no secret that Honda builds amazing bikes. The Valkyrie Gold Wing is not only just amazing, but it's unique all on its own. The Gold Wing Valkyrie shares a frame, engine and transmission with the Gold Wing and F6B, but arrives without bags or fairing. It is very muscular up front in the styling and tapers nicely through to the rear of the bike. Honda describes the Valkyrie as a modern muscle cruiser, and the description fits. Its closer in spirit and style to the outrageous Rune than to the original classic cruiser-ish Valkyrie. The hope is that riders who are ready to move on from their sport bikes, but not yet ready to commit to a full dress touring bike will see the Valkyrie as a sporty alternative to a traditional cruiser. Just one ride though and you quickly realize this bike is pretty dang awesome. Such a smooth and subtle ride, the bike glides over the road. For those who have been on Gold wings already know this. But with the Valkyrie it's so nice to have a stripped down version of the "wing" for some what of a more spirited ride. Displacing 1832cc and producing maximum torque at 4000 rpm, the new Valkyrie weighs 154 pounds less than a fully dressed Gold Wing, yet puts out all the power of the luxury tourer. Fuel capacity is 6.1 gallons, which should be good for over 200 miles of range, depending on how heavy your wrist is, and with this bike you may want to do frequent checks on your wrist because going is effortless.
